Jorge Fernández is PhD in Chemistry and full Professor of the Deparatment of Analytical Chemsitry at the University of Granada. Since his beginnings, he has worked in the study and characterization of new materials with applicability in Analytical Chemistry. He continued working in this field after finishing his Doctoral Thesis, first at the UGR (as a Puente scholarship), then at the Public University of Navarra (as a Research Project contract holder) and later in Switzerland, with a postdoctoral stay at the Swiss Federal Institute of Zurich in the Centre for Chemical Sensor (2004 to 2006).
In mid 2006, he returned to the UGR with a reincorporation contract, in 2007 he got the position of Assistant Professor, in 2009 he got the position of Associate Professor and in 2019 the one he currently enjoys, Full Professor.
