Alberto Fernández Gutiérrez is a retired Professor of the University of Granada. He has been assistant professor at the Universities of Granada and Extremadura, visiting professor at the University of Florida (USA), Director of the research group FQM297 and Director of CIDAF "Center for Research and Development of Functional Foods".
He has published more than 400 scientific articles (h-index higher than 65), 36 books/chapters, has directed 40 PhD Theses, 41 Dissertations, has participated in 51 projects and 53 research contracts.
Among other distinctions, he holds the Silver Medal of the University of Granada, Gold Medal of the University of Almeria, Numerary Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Granada, Honorary Member of the Professional Association of Chemists, Commemorative Medal of the RSEQ, Professor Emeritus of the UGR and Dr. Honoris Causa by the University of Almeria.
